OSLI Retina Wins 2013 APEX Award of Excellence

Thorofare, NJ – OSLI Retina, a SLACK Incorporated publication, has received an Award of Excellence in the 25th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) competition in the “Most Improved Magazine & Journals” category.

Under the direction of Carmen A. Puliafito, MD, Editor-in-Chief, OSLI Retina received one of the APEX Awards of Excellence that are presented each year in 138 subcategories. A judging panel comprised of expert writers and editors determined recipients of the awards, which are distributed based on graphic design excellence, editorial content and overall communications superiority.

“We are honored to be a recipient of this prestigious APEX Award,” said Joan-Marie Stiglich, ELS, Senior Vice President of SLACK Incorporated. “This award recognizes our physician editors and staff’s hard work and determination to provide clinically relevant journal articles to our readers in a timely manner.”

APEX awards recognize excellence in publication work by professional communicators in 12 major categories and 138 individual subcategories. More than 2,400 entries were examined for participation in the overall APEX competition, which also included the Grand Awards — which honor outstanding works in each one of the 12 major categories.

OSLI Retina focuses exclusively on retinal diseases, surgery and pharmacotherapy. Readers will find important peer-reviewed retina articles and the latest findings in technique and science, as well as informative business and practice management features.
