Overview

The course is intended to educate the comprehensive ophthalmologist on new phakic IOL technology that will correct refractive errors in most patients and offer an alternative to corneal refractive surgery. Attendees will have the opportunity to see this new technology during lectures and live surgery performed during the meeting. Leading experts will discuss surgical technique, recent FDA findings, their clinical experience and advantages and disadvantages of this technology.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this symposium, attendees should be able to:

  • Explain how phakic IOLs are used as an alternative for their patients
  • Recognize how astigmatism can be managed with phakic IOLs
  • Discuss the appropriate role of this procedure in their practices
  • Identify patients who would be the best candidates for this procedure
