specialty is with children born with hypoplasia of the hand where they may have
only wrist bones and soft tissue but practically no metacarpals or phalanges,
or with aplasia of the fingers where most of the palm is present but digits may
be wholly or partly missing. The technique is also useful in cases of traumatic
