Mailing lists (commonly known as "listservs" after the popular
list managment program Listserv) are discussion groups in which the
participants communicate via e-mail about certain topics. Most lists are
moderated and have specific and unique instructions concerning appropriate
subject matter for discussion, subscribing and unsubscribing, and submitting
comments to the group. This information should be provided to you via e-mail
after you register with a particular list.
