* 94% of CRNAs are involved in direct patient
care.
* 83% of CRNAs practice in community or
university hospitals, while 12% practice in offices and clinics.
* In 50% of all U.S. hospitals, CRNAs are the
sole anesthesia providers.
* CRNAs administer approximately 65% of the
26 million anesthetics given to patients each year in the U.S.
* CRNAs perform all these anesthesia-related
techniques: general anethesia, monitored anesthesia care, bier block, artery
catheter insertion, subarachnoid block, epidural, brachial plexus block, pain
management and pulmonary artery catheter insertion.
